2024 well underway with a podium in Ludinghausen (Germany)

The 2024 season is going well so far with already five meeting done. After two invitational meetings here in the Netherlands the phone rang if I wanted to ride in Plattling (Germany), of course I do! Plattling being a unconventional track and it was the first time there for me, it took some time to get used to the layout of the track with 5 corners. I'm well pleased with the day and overall a 7th place just missing out on the final.

3th place dutch open speedway

To kick the season of we started with the only round for the Dutch open speedway Championship, what meant that after the first race the first titel was already won by someone. I started out struggling with the track during practice, but as the day continued I started to feel more comfortable and the track conditions improved as well.

under 23 world championship

Past weekend I rode the u23 longtrack world championship. A day that was very promising as I kept improving every heat. After being tied for 3th place going in to the finals we had to draw for the a or b final, wich didn't work out in my favor. This meant I had to ride the last change for a spot in the final wich I confidently won. Unfortunatly in the final another rider made a bad judgement call and wiped both himself and me out. I did get to restart as it wasn't my fault, but after this crash I wasn't fit and after the race ended up in an ambulance to the hospital.

first world longtrack points

After a good season with some nice results and a lot of positive feedback from a lot people I have been given a big reward. I was asked for a reserve spot in the longtrack world championship round 5 in Vechta! I was fortunate enough to get to ride in the meeting to. In the first outing i got to ride I unfortunately didn't score any points from what turned out to be the worst gate, but i could keep up well. In the second and last heat I got to ride I scored a very respectable 2 points officially placing my name on the list with the worlds best riders. I'm pretty happy with this result and am looking forward for the next one.

2nd place Berghaupten!

I had an awsome day at Berhaupten! Felt good on the bike straight away and was quick in practice giving me a spot for the track record as well. We made some small setup changes to the bike and with succes. I rode a second time in the track record, in which you do one hot lap. But even more important, I finished in a great second place putting myself out there in great fashion!

Eenrum

Last sunday I rode on the fast dream track of Eenrum in the international group. During the practice I tried the bike and made some small adjustments for the races. In the first heat I had a reasonable start, but a good first turn coming out in second place. I gained some ground on the leader (Theo Pijper) following real close, but wasn't able to overtake. In the third heat I had a good start and got a second place again, this time in front of Theo. The fourth heat I missed out on the start and got a fourth place.

P4 in Uithuizen

I had a turbulent day at Uithuizen. In practice when the track was still slick with the grass on I was doing well and felt good. When the track gripped up more at the beginning of the event I couldn't make it work and felt pretty uncomfortable out there. Maybe it had something to do with the incident from last week, but it just was not up to part.

staphorst 19-8

Dutch open 4 Staphorst is one to forget. The track was pretty good and I felt okay, but it realy wasn't my day. In the first heat I ran into the back of someone in the fist bend and miraculously I managed to stay on and the race went on. 2 Laps later I had to retire because my chain went of. The back end of the bike was pretty low to te ground. Turns out I broke my rear swingarm, where the suspension attaches to. With the mechanics working hard on that bike I rode the next one on my spare bike. It all went pretty well, but than I got extra grip and the bike lifted pretty hard. I was able to get the wheels back on the ground, but at the moment the front wheel touched again I went over the handlebars.Result of the day, a concusion and some bruses.. luck wasn't on anyones side as the race got canceld because of the rain.

Rastede

After just a few hours of sleep we were present again in rastede. It was a first time riding on the worlds fastest longtrack and and despite the odd shape with three corners I loved it. In the first heat I got a decent start and finished in a strong second place after I was able to overtake another rider. In the second heat I only scored 1 point after I missed out on the start. I had a good speed but with the poor visibility due to dust and flying dirt, I couldn't find a way past and had to take my loss in a 5th place.
