update july

I have a little catching up to do. We have been pretty busy the last weeks and updating this blog kind of got forgotten, so here is the update.

Grasstrack Tayac

On 2 july I rode in tayac in south france, It was my first time there and i didn't know what to expect because of the rather unique shape of the track. As it turned out, I absolutely loved it. It was a 400 meter grasstrack with a clay like surface making it more a speedway track than anything else and it suited me just fine.

Because of techincal problems I had to start the meeting on my spare bike, on which i rode the rest of the evening. After making a minor chance to the setup I was verry competitive and had a great time.

After the heats I went into the B-final where I just fell short to make it to the A-final with a 4th place. In totsl I got an 8th place ot of seventeen riders and although I always want to make the final, I'm well pleased with the results.

ONK Noordwolde

9 july was the dutch open grastrack in Noordwolde, the 3th of the Dutch championship rounds. With a 7th place I took home some points for the championship and played it safe.

But in truth non of that is importand to me. Noordwolde is one of those tracks I always struggle on and I'm becomming more and more comfortable on these kind of tracks. I don't try to be to positive or to negative, but there is just not to much to say. The main thing is that in these perticular situation where you dont I comfortable, I am learning a lot each time.

Mulmshorn

The sunday after Noordwolde we left for Mulmshorn in germany. It was again a new track for me and altough riding wasn't bad at all, I needed to figure out the track a little.

In the first heat I blew the start and had to follow. I was not able to pass anyone in this heat but at this point I figured out the ideal lines for me and changed the suspension setup. In the next heats I got progressively better each time I went out there. I made it to the final as last and was given the outside gate, but made it work. I had a good start and just went all in in the first turn comming out in 2nd place. After a good and fair fight I ended up 3th in the final, which I am verry pleased with. Unfortunatly for me the points scored over the day together with the points in the final made up the final result, this meant that I got 5th overal. That's a shame but I'm well pleased and next time I wont have to figure out the setup and track.

The five quickest from the international riders from the final and the first from the national class got to ride one last run, the Brigitte Haltermann trophy. I again because of points from earlier was given the outside gate, but it worked fine for me again. After almost overtaking the leader a few times I got 2nd in this race.

All together a good day and I'm looking forward for the next one.

Aduard

16 july the whole team went to Aduard, where my sister and a young guy we suport where possible rode in the national class.

I had a great day at stichting grasbaan aduard
First time riding there and love the track! The series went well but got only 1 point in the first heat because the belt snapped going out of the last corner. 2nd going in the b-final and slit out in the first corner because the track was a little to wet and slick. Managed to pick the bike back up and fortunatly for me someone else crashed and we had a restart after some aditional track preparation. Ended up 3th in the b-final. Could have made it to the a-final since I was faster, but I didn't make the start and the competition didn't make a mistake. Fair enough, 7th place over the day and I'm happy with it.
